Well there are so many so it's really difficult to choose one.
There are a couple of Crowded House tracks I feel particularly close to...you know the ones. But I don't wish I'd written them. Same with Seeds tracks really. So often it's the person that wrote them that makes them wonderful, so I can't see myself having written them.
I'll have to get back to you on this one...
I think for both lyrics, melody and arrangement for me it would have to be Bridge Over Troubled Water
A Beautiful song of never-ending love and friendship.
When you´re weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all...all...
I´m on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can´t be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you´re down and out
When you´re on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you (ooh)
I´ll take your part, oh, when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend
I´m sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
I know probably many of you will be shoving your fingers down your throats (Don included!) at how corny my answer is, but hell, why are we on this planet apart from to give love and support to those we care about?
