Ian's plans

Just been checking your site as i do from time to time as an interesed party, and sorry to say that you've been fed (again!) i am sorry to say a load of bollox!

one thing is true - that ian has been putting down tracks (two are absolute stunners) for a possible new album but no release date looks imminent. However, i know that John Reid Management are committed to seeing Ian release again preferably in the guise of Lightning Seeds.

it looks like Ian was misquoted, although the traditional seeds set up is no more with everyone going off to do their own thing, he is not about to chuck away a rpoject he has invested the best part of 14 years in. Speaking with Ian before christmas i get the feeling you will be pleasantly surprised by the summer with some kind of single release(and a massive change in direction), i don't think you will see the seeds touring for quite some time and when you do it willl probably be in a different format. Sorry to be criptic but wait and see. i think what Ian probably said was that the next album will be a solatary affair , namely he putting down all of the tracks with a few selected "guests" ging back to his early releases, but it is not the end of the seeds. He has always seen the seeds as constantly changing and developing and somethign that can be kept fresh.

Never forget that Ian is universally liked throughout the industry and there are a lot of people wanting to work with him, although Epic were dissapointed with sales of the last album they will jump at the chance of releasing another, from our point of view it was a lack of support from epic that resulted in low sales.

I no longer work at John Reid but i do freelance work so i will keep my ear to the ground, and hopefully i will be working with ian again in the near future. I am almost 95% that i will be.

so to conclude i would keep you peckers up , and make sure that you keep supporting ian because his talent desearves exposure and the only way to get that is to sell records. i'll try and get back to you soon in the meantime try and keep phoning John Reid, they will give nothing away but a level of interest will give them more confidence. And keep badgering enough you might just get the news you all want to hear.

I hopefully get back to you soon.

Where are you?

Do you know how I can get a hold of Ian Broudie? We grew up together as friends in Liverpool and we have not spoken for at least 25 years.

Please feel free to give him my email address.
