Response to Is it just nostalgia?

That's what "The Castle Experience" is...

Its one of those things, you just can't explain. The right people, the right place, the right times and most importantly, the right AGE.

Many of us were either in our mid teens or early 20's, with the few exceptions of various middle aged people. In retrospect, the simplest answer to "what happened", is that we all grew up and had to deal with the real world. For me part of it was the vastness of the Internet in general. I got online right when the popularity of crap like AOL started to peak, but that was... Roughly 14 or 15 years ago. That's a long time... I just turned 27, I'm OLD ! And these days the Internet is just downright... boorish. Been there, seen everything, although I admit I occasionally come across some rather odd sexual fetishes just when I thought I'd seen it all...

But that's what happened to most of us. There is something you lose in the transition to adulthood, or I should say that very FEW people in the world seem to be able to hold onto, and that is the sense of imagination that comes without having to worry about life, because your parents have largely taken care of you up until this point. Some of us have kids, or full fledged family's, some of us just grind away the hours of the day working crap jobs because its all we can get, some are probably still in school, getting richer than the rest of us. That's just the way it is.

If anything, the chase for nostalgia has reconciled me to mediocrity - because it's never gonna get any better than it was back then.. So I take life one day at a time, and try not to care.. I've had too many problems to deal with the past 10 years to worry anymore, that I'm not gonna get that experience back, and its probably the healthy thing to do in this case.

You can't treasure something if it never ends.
