I find myself popping in from time to time, just hoping someone has started something somewhere. The adult in me wants to say "things change and we must change too" but the kid in me wants to flop around on the floor and kick and scream "I WANT MY CASTLE BACK!!"
My time at the Castle was a blast, and more than anything else in my life, it taught me more confidence to be me. Arlis's story and abilities may have been fiction, but the personality was all me. The good times I had helped me to 'come out of my shell' in RL.
And having a place like the caste where I could so fully immerse myself into imagination was such an escape. Even the best RPG's still trap you in a world of rules and story created by someone else with option limited to the programming. The Castle offered a freedom to completely leave everything behind, with your only boundaries being your own imagination ... and how fast you could type.
And the people around during those few years made it awesome. We all seemed to be there for the same purpose. Step out of our world for a bit, leave all the stress and worry behind and escape in to a world of our own making.
I have never known of anything like it. I miss it.
