| What does Robotech's origins have to do with its quality as a product? scratches head.. It is an integral piece of the history of Anime in America. It reached a wide audience and introduced millions of young kids to the idea of animation as a viable, mature entertainment product.
It may have been 3 different shows in Japan, but frankly that's what America could get at the time. It's a damn fine piece of work that stands alone on its own, especially the Macross Saga portion of it. Without Robotech and the few shows that followed after it, Anime in America today would be a vastly different reality - if it even existed as a niche marketplace at all.
It opened the door to acceptance, and without it and other early pioneers, people wouldn't be have the choice to even watch stuff like DBZ, Naruto, and all that on T.V |
