David Layton just finished a list of all planes that served in the GAS during the war. These would be front-line units on the western front only. I did a count. There were 205 different types.

Some of these are 1914 craft that we're not planning to model, and there is a big group where there's just a handful that served at the front.

I picked an arbitrary number of at least 125 aircraft serving at the front during the month to define 'major' types, and came up with somewhere between 25 and 40. You can add in types that didn't have those numbers, but were more than a handful, and reaching 50-60 types isn't out of the question. Add in notable types, and the list gets pretty darned big.

That doesn't include any of the minor types, or early types.

Now, add in similar numbers for the British and French. :)

Next, think about seaplanes, zepplins, and the other fronts such as the Russian and Austro-Italian.

I can see hundreds of types, and we wouldn't even be talking about the minor types!

So, even with that in mind, do we open it up to user mods? Right now, the answer is still No. However, to keep that same answer, we're going to need to get a lot of folks who can do modeling and such for these. Its going to be quite a job.

Droops
