what I mean is...

I'm not saying "this is how it's gonna be" I'm just telling you the ideas in my head so you know where I'm standing -- don't quit on me yet! I want your input so I can see what kind of situation you're expecting out of this story too. Ultimately in any collaboration the end result is going to be one strikingly different from the original conception of each participant. If we don't communicate, the story won't go anywhere. But first, I want to know your idea, unmitigated by any compromises that may take place later on.

And I'm certainly willing to compromise. If you want to back up to the "I have not known mortal hunger" bit and kill that, maybe you could help give me a nudge in a more suitable direction.

I don't see either character using force, either, but my point is, when we get to "the good stuff" someone's gonna have to play sword and the other scabbard, yanno? Besides, as the saying goes, you can't rape the willing.

Let me explain myself a little more in detail about that particular. Throughout the canon, Sydney has been the active seducer, deliberately placing himself in Ashley's path, manipulating him to his particular ends and succeeding.

I also think it consistent with Sydney's character to keep playing seducer, although he is the one who has fallen in love; after all, it could be observed that it was Ashley who did the seducing, albeit unconsciously -- he got under Sydney's skin first, made him desire him, which could conclusion that may come as a surprise to both characters.

Maybe you envisioned Sydney on top, but I don't know that, you see? So I need your input to know what's rubbing you the wrong way.
