'S gone all quiet ...

**Waves tentatively.**

I have art. Yes. I do.

vfair.jpg There's a story behind this one, you lucky chilluns. It all began this afternoon in C block ... Tina had brought a copy of that infamous Vanity Fair issue, and urged me to read it. Aside from noticing that Alan Rickman makes a killer Snape (but we already knew that), and that John Cleese makes an even better Nearly Headless Nick (and that we also knew), I ignored most of the article, save for the small excerpt from that new book, wossit called? Conversations with J.K. Rowling, I think. The quote was in response to a question about (I think) how much planning the author usually does in order to make each character unique. She responded with something along the (rather paraphrased) lines of, "... Sirius Black is a good example of this ... I've got a whole childhood worked out for him ..."

Gee, thanks, Jo. Eighteen potential fanfiction plots down the bleeding drain.

(To anyone offended by relatively mild profanity: I'm sorry. I've been as highly strung as a racehorse on intravenous espresso. Please don't hurt me, Professor! Ow!)

overlook.jpg Toying around with an attempt to copy Edward Juan's (you know, the HocusPocus guy) unique colouring style, I realised that I just couldn't do it. But I like the look of it, anyway. For some reason this pic makes me think of that old song that goes, o/' I'm looking over / A four-leafed clover / That I've overlooked be-fore ...o/' You know the one.

gofchap27.jpg [Warning: extremely large file. I advise opening it in a new window.] I've always wanted to illustrate this scene ... Sirius displays his incredible capacity to be a callous s.o.b. when he really wants to. This is more than half of the coagulated ball of reasons why I love the guy.

Gonna use that pic in my portfolio for Art Careers next semester. I don't care if it's fan-art. I should get some credit for all the tedious hatchwork I put into the darned thing.

On a more serious note, I hope everyone here is okay, and will continue to be okay, no matter what madcap brainless scheme Bush sends his various lackeys and his more idiotic supporters haring off on.
