Oops, no, that's supposed to be outlining that sort of hollow dip you have in your throat, you know what I mean? The little dip that's right between your collarbones. Except that I couldn't show the whole curve because of the V-cut neckline of the robe. I guess I should just erase the lines entirely. :P
Actually, there's a LOT I'd like to fix on that picture; for one thing I forgot to put in any shading or highlights; I thought it wasn't possible using just Microsoft Paint, and on a picture that little. However last night I proved myself wrong by putting shading all over the Cassandra "doll" (not the board's Cassandra! Cassandra the "Damsel of Doom" from Herc the series.) and it really made it look MUCH better.
Thing is, I have already turned the wizards' pic from a bitmap into a JPG, and when I did that, the colours dithered. Now I can't fix up one little thing without fixing up a TON of things, and putting shading in is almost more trouble than it's worth. We're talking shading individual pixels here...
Anyway, ick, no, that's not chest hair. I HATE chest hair, and I certainly wouldn't draw cute little Harry Potter as having so much that it sticks out the neckline of his robe. Ick. That always makes me wanna gag when I see it on real-life guys. Yeah, I'm weird...
He IS, however, older than when he starts the books, in this picture--they both are. I used adult proportioned "base bodies", so when I skinnied them down a bit and put the robes on, they became teenagers. (Hermione's originally had a (waves hands in the air) "figure", but you can't see it under the robes.) I guess you could say they're about the age they'll be by the fifth book or something. Around there. In the later years of Hogwart's in general.
The OTHER problem is that this was originally going to be an entirely different wizard character (another teenager, though) and when I changed it to Harry, all I did was fix the colouring, put on glasses and a scar; I didn't change the SHAPE of the robes at all. Which is why some things are a bit off. I mean, I don't think the Hogwart's students wear little pointy shoes, for one thing. :P
But it was just too CUTE to change. :P
