Which was also brought up on the Slytherin Society forum, that Sirius didn't really intend to get Snape killed, just roughed up a bit to discourage him from following him around in the future. He might not have realized the seriousness of what he did, even as an adult, which may be why he doesn't show remorse for it. I like that theory better than Sirius being a sociopath.
