But I have not observed that to be the case.

Anyway, Americans are not Canadians, so it really is comparing apples and maple syrup.

...and while I can't provide an exhaustive one, when we pay the highest per capita costs for a healthcare system and get nearly the poorest outcomes of any Western nation, there is a LOT of room for improvement. On the face of it, we're paying a lot for poor quality.

I also think that looking at Canada as a model with a sense of dread, is as you say, comparing apples to maple syrup. It's a false dichotomy - it's either what we have, or this "disaster" north of the 49th.
