...I'm struck by a couple things.  First, the emails between Sanford and his Brazilian lover are passionate, romantic, and filled with pain about "the situation."  Very touching, really.  Still, I'm repulsed by infidelity - can't stand it, even hate to see it in a movie.  But, it's his business with his family.  the fact that he behaved erratically in pursuit of this thing is the business of the state of South Carolina, though.  You're the governor, dude.  Hell, I leave a number when I go away, or at least a designated hitter, and I run a couple departments in a mid-sized company, not a state.He just disappeared, leaving his staff to come up with some kind of clumsy cover story.

The other thing is that his wife is NOT playing the dutiful political "stand by your man" wife.  Very refreshing.

on Clinton?  What a contrast to ten years ago, when he says  that Clinton's behavior  was "reprehensible" and "I think it would be much better for the country and for him personally" to resign."

And now he has said he won't resign, but I'm betting he does next week.

Politicians, I can hardly believe any of them.
