Yeesh! The things I almost say! I walked into Harris Teeter Saturday to discover free samples... of champagne! The Korbel lady was offering a taste of a couple brut varieties. I generally prefer the sweeter wines myself, so I started to ask if she had any of those varieties to taste. Somehow, I refrained from saying, "I like brut champagnes, but I prefer secs."

She'd have had a story to tell her relatives at the Thanksgiving table every year for the rest of her life.
