Response to Bertholy on 'Natural'

The golfer must re-create the swing...sounds like Bagger Vance. Practice re-creation to be able to hit the fine shot under pressure. I've been doing a lot of recreating, not re-creating. This sheds new light on Moe's answer when questioned about distance -
"I never worry about distance, only perfection of technique...."

I played today...tried to just re-create although that wasn't what I was thinking at the time, but after reading Peter's post, I realize that is what I was doing. I formed an image in my mind of the perfect shot, how it felt and how it looked, then just let fly. I can honestly say that my best shots - I have no idea how they happened, they just seemed to happen. When I "tried" I bombed. This may sound very strange but is very descriptive of the experience.

Shot 83 with three doubles, and no birdies...mushy fairways that gave 1 yard rolls...and 25 mph wind. The less I tried, and the more present the image of the good shot was, the better the results. All three doubles were the result of errant tee balls.

More Peter...we are in the midst of a "defining moment"(s) for this DG...
