The second logical step is for the pupil to feel premature (early) release of the hands versus a late release of the hands. To totally identify why, how, and when the faulty premature release occured and feel to the same degree and manner what the late release feels like, and to clearly feel the difference. This can best be done by following simple Kinesthetic procedure.
Select a stick about three feet long, about golf-shaft half inch diameter. Prepare yourself to strike a flat surface by grasping the stick near one of the ends with the left hand. Then with the other hand grip the stick about halfway up. Raise the left arm up about a foot as the right securely holds the stick, then pull down smoothly with the left arm while retaining with the right. Once considerable tension has been built up, release with the right hand, allowing a crack!!impact on the flat surface. Practice this simple little containment and release principle until some skill has developed at delivering a smart blow. In this simple conditioning program you are now leading and lagging. It is also important the Golfer do this little excercise improperly a few times for discrimination, so a few repetitions pushing with the right arm and hand will clearly sensitize for the improper action.
Rem always wondered about the 'sudden' acceleration of Moe's club and the 'thwack'
Next time: 'Swing the Club' - Bertholy style.
