Response to STC info

it seems pros wanted to 'surg' onf the wave of the success of others though they did not generate the wave. I'd not thought this about Jones till now. It seems Penick is the only 'famous' one left I'd call 'pure' in this regard (I don't think Bertholy is 'famous'). Any famous golfer he mentions in his writing is one that he not only coached for some time as a pro but taught from childhood on.

There is a nice turn in Jones' statement that can lead many down what is IMHO the wrong road but just the road to justify STC. At least the wrong road given Jones' demonstration (as shown by the Frankels) of a rhythmic swing - one that matches a weight on a string (pendulum) hung from the hands with the club. The 'turn' is that the hands respond to the "idea" of swinging the clubhead and you should forget everything else. Well, if I had Hogan's 'idea' of wht I was doing that might be true. However I don't think I'll ever get Hogan's 'idea' or an 'idea' of my own that produces a movement like Hogan's by forgetting what my body does. Hogan certainly didn't forget what his body did and himself directed that to swing properly you needed to focus on 'body' details including initiating the swing with your lower body and not your arms/hands.

I can see lots of people with this mindset thinking they's captured the Hogan's 'idea' and so believing themselvs to 'have' his swing. Especially if they never examine film/video/photos of themselves and Hogan for comparison.
