To further Kinesthetically identify the centrifugal force Golfswing and the worthless non-centrifugal force Golfswing, let us use a soft, weighted object tied on the end of a 32" looped cord.
First let us perform the wrong motion: Holding the weighted object such as a PGB of hollow plastic ball, or any other soft weighted material with the right hand, while the left hand holds the string held between thumb and forefinger (loop in string around thumb) in a firm gripping manner, make the string taut between the hands. Now raise the right hand up, with the left hand following along but still maintaining the taut string between the two hands. The length of the stretched string between the right and left hand will be the distance from thumb of target arm when stretched to the center of the throat. Once the approximate position of the top of the backswing has been reached, it is now imperative that the wrong first move is performed.
Instead of starting the downswing properly from below the belt with the left knee buckle, wrongly thrust and cast with the right arm and hand, and with a throwing motion of the right arm, release the PGB ball in its jagged, most ineffective erratic path. Repeat this typical faulty, harmful Golfswing action while closely observing the ugly jagged ineffectual pattern the PGB ball scribes. An excellent check for proper string ball swing finds the ball whacking the player in the upper back shoulders region. It is important that our Golfer not only sees this ineffective pattern, but vastly more imperative, that he Kinesthetically clearly identifies this unwanted sensation of destructive motion.
Notice how clearly the speed of the PGB ball has been destroyed, how there is no "follow-through" action, and also more importantly, how abruptly the ball jerks to a stop. See this and Kinestheticall record this awkward ineffective action. Now with total awareness, both mentally and Kinesthetically, of the wrong action, we have indelibly recorded the identity of the enemy, and we now can more effectively retard the incursion of harmful Golfswing action. To deal most effectively with this harsh enemy of the Golfswing, the Hit-Impulse, we not only must identify him, but understand how and when and why he acts. Now for the first time we are capable of dealing with the enemy.
The next logical Kinesthetic procedure is to perform the proper positive action after having clearly identified the negative. The negative being of an instinctive nature will always prove to be more difficult to deal with than the positive. The positive being acquired behavior and not instinctive like the negative, will always prove to be more difficult to acquire and elusive to maintain.
Now take the taut string between the hands to an effective top of backswing position, and do the excercise in the proper Golfswing fashion. Start the downswing from below the belt with the left knee-buckle, moving weight to the left foot and all the while as one is pulling down with the left arm and hand, maintain a taut string between the hands as the right hand and arm resists slightly as the right arm descends along with the left arm descent. Once the left hand is opposite the ball position, release the hold of the right hand on the PGB ball (or some othersoft object - it must be soft so as not to hurt oneself as the object swings around into the individual's back).
Repeat this centrifugal force action until expertise has been achieved and there is a pure swing motion. Doing it improperly dramatically emphasizes the unwanted faulty action and performing it cleverly with centrifugal force raises one's Kinesthetic awareness level toward the goal we are all seeking, the pure centrifugal force Golfswing of great beauty, fascinating velocity.
