Response to The Bertholy Method ( I )

Pose the hands 14" - 15" beyond the ball position to hit missle-like irons into the wind or rain softened greens.
...
For the medium trajectory position the hands 8" beyond the ball, and for the high trajectory feed-in a three inch advanced hand position.

This positioning relates also to Hogan't point in '5 Lessons' about the 'crack' sound of a good strike and the lead wrist position at impact.

For a reference consider that the distance from your shoulder to the center of you chest is about 12". If the ball is under your sternum and you have a straight line from your lead shoulder through the arm and club to the ball then your hands are about 6" ahead. However there is no amateurs in my video collection save those they are likely to become pros that achieve this impact position.
