Response to How to find Bertholy material

I have been a student of Todd Graves' for some time and he mentioned that when he first met Moe he was advised (by Moe) to see Mr. Bertholy. Todd in fact did spend time at Foxfire (N.C.) with Mr. Bertholy learning from the master. You may want to post something on this forum asking Todd about his experiences. From what I've heard they're quite colorful! FYI - probably the best known Bertholy student was a Wake Forest All-Amercian (of the 70's) by the name of Bob Byman. Byman was something of a prodigy back then and actually won 1 PGA Tour event (I can't remember which). His career somewhat followed the same path as Bobby Clampett's - meteoric rise and just-as-meteoric decline. I did get to see Byman play in the late seventies in New Orleans. Very left-side dominant golf swing with lots of forearm rotation (similar to Ben Hogan). In fact, in Golf World article form the 70's he mentioned his desire to emulate Hogan's technique. Hope all of this helps.
