Did anyone not know that the shot in the video I referenced above was hit off of a tee? Here is another look:
I just sort of assumed that anyone watching would realize that.
The idea is that if there is a pinching action when the ball is hit off of a tight lie and no pinching action when the ball is hit off a tee then we would expect to see the ball move downward in the direction of the pinch.
Also, does anyone not understand that backspin in any full shot is a result of the ball rolling up the face during impact due to friction between the face and the clubhead? That is why you get less spin with a slicker ball such as one that is made with a low spin cover or wet or hit out of the rough where grass gets between the clubhead and the ball.
