Response to Re: Convienient mis-direction

So, the troll has created another user name for him/herself. Although I do admit that the writing style has improved. But what the heck, I'll bite once.

Bertholy was consistently ranked in Golf Magazines top 25/50/100 teachers for dozens of years. Don't let your youth trick you into thinking that a man now dead for 11 years was not great because he is no longer in the collective consciousness.

One measure of playing greatness is that players winning record. But what measure of teaching greatness do we have? Tiger was a great player before Butch Harmon or Hank Haney even knew he existed. We can hardly give them the credit for his greatness.. Do we then give the teaching nod to Earl Woods who is the person singularly responsible for Tigers early education which led to his greatness?

In fact, all of the current teaching pro's who are considered great are only considered so because of their association with the players who have chosen to work with them, and have tirelessly promoted themselves for this fact. Have they really helped these pro's, or did these pro's come by their ability because of their efforts in childhood? I'd bet on the latter.

Many of the folks who think that Bertholy is great is because he appears to be the ONLY teacher who has a method to show adult amateurs how to become pro-like. For this he will always have my debt of gratitude. I don't care what you or the greater golfing world think of him, nor ironically, did he. IMHO he is truly the best.

As for Moe, them is fighting words on this forum. Let the flame wars begin!!!
