And the jig is up. The $50 price is to take care of your "core customers"? That means a first time visitor to your site must pay $65? This is getting better and better. On your site it is "PRE-ORDER SALE - offer good through April 30th" - but in your explanation here it is to "take care of core customers". What a bunch of crap. BUT NOW YOU'RE SELLING! It's okay though I get it - it's marketing. This is the tried and true "act now" incentive. Old as the hills. Make customers think they are getting a value by acting sooner rather than later. "But if you buy today the price is....after that the price goes up."
Problem again is authenticity. This gets to Herbert's point. The value of the product remains unchanged, before or after the incentive. The only thing that has changed is the deadline is gone.
BTW - Clicking on the cart, today, on May 5 still gives me ( definitely NOT a core customer ) the $50 price. Has the sale been extended? Am I automatically converted to a core customer by clicking on the cart?
Oh yeah...what will you do about the "core customers" who purchased before April 30th to get the better price, only to find out they didn't need to ( still don't)? Oh what a tangled web we weave....
This thread has been about perceptions and perceived value - and GGA is on record that I am confused and confusing others....OKAY THEN!
