and while we're at it, NG clubs were never as extreme as you're describing either. It's true they're about an inch longer but nothing like 4 inches. I'm wondering where you got this info and whether you have ever even seen or held a club from NG? I just placed a graphite shafted NG Pipeline 9 iron beside an older Wilson blade, steel shafted 9 iron and the NG 9 iron is about an inch and a half longer. Taking into account the graphite vs. the steel, there is a legitimate half inch. Plus the older Wilson blade is probably a tad shorter than a standard steel shafted iron today. So, for sure no more than an inch longer, lol.
