There is nothing lateral about the above picture

At address (hips parallel to the target line) Moe's lead pocket is not near the vertical red line outside his lead foot. Just before impact (hips parallel to the target line) it is. No rotation on the axis of the spine would cause his lead hip to move closer to that line than it was at address (or cause his lead knee to move towards the target either).

That is the reality of the what is shown. You are welcome to post any sequence photos you have which show that the position of Moe's hips at the same when parallel to the target line in backswing and downswing are in the same lateral position.

Hopefully this is sufficient to demonstrate that the motion is not purely rotational.
