Todd chose to post a statment on this board. He undoubtedly believed he was correct. He is not.
Given the error he has made I suspect I understand his 'beachball' point better than he does. As Moe's hips rotate his surface may move in ways that are not indicative of spine movement whether viewed from the front or from the back. Todd likely believed that his back view was a true indicator where it is not. It was a MD here some time ago in a discussion that pointed out that the spine is NOT on the surface.
Moe's lower spine does NOT return to the same position or even near to it and that is clear in Todd's clip despite his analysis.
If Todd's point had been correct then my analysis would support it as it has for some other theories in the past. It does not. If you can't stand the heat then you have the choice to not go into the kitchen.
