Response to Chicken wing
For myself, one of the biggest contributors for coming over the top was the trail elbow. So, the "chicken wing" elbow I am referring to is the trail side. For a 2 plane swing, it needs to point down rather than behind or away from the body.
(you probably already know this. So forgive me for the following parochial blurb):
Jim Hardy states there are basically 2 types of swings; he categorizes them as a 1 plane and a 2 plane swing. A 1 plane swing is more around the body (.i.e. Allen in the PGA championship). A 2 plane swing is more straight back and then up. This requires the path, or angle/plane, to change on the back swing and down swing (i.e. Moore--winner of PGA).
I always thought I was a 1 plane type golfer. It turns out I actually do much better using 2 plane swing.
