"....can you shoot your worst round of the year and finish 18 feeling happy and in a good mood?"
For me, it has pretty much always been "A bad day of golf is better than a good day of work" I always have a good time when I play, though I have a better time when I play well. DUH!

It's better to catch fish than not isn't it? Still enjoyed the day on the lake, but I like it better with a cooler full. DUH! The point is to play well, to catch fish.
This type of question always tickles me. Like the parents of the kids I used to coach soccer. Some of em all worried and would counsel me about making sure Johnny mainly "had fun" and that winning was secondary. I would politely tell them that of course he will have fun, but he would be coached to win as well, no apologies. Otherwise why keep score, have a game at all?
One time, I held a team scrimmage and asked for the parents to stay. I told the parents ahead of time that "we weren't going to keep score". The scrimmage began and as both sides scored, I began to sub out the players one by one. Just with earshot of the parents, I would ask the player siting out what the score was - I think all but two of the players knew it till the game was over. The kids know. And the parents got it.
If I don't score in the 70's now...well that is a "bad day"...but still much better than if golf hadn't been in it! Ramble on bro...
