SOMAX believes that there should be absolutely no lateral movement of the hips in the DS and that the DS rotation should be a single giant hip turn powered directly by the muscles of the hips. Kelvin believes, like Bertholy, that the DS is a multiple firing event initiated by a lateral hip bump. He then believes that the second stage of the DS is powered by a lizard like compound bending of the spine (best described as a side bend and lower back arch.) This is probably closer to a Mike Austin concept, at least from a lower body perspective.
BTW, Hogan was not known for being a long hitter.
