Response to I'm no John McEnroe ( and you're no Jesper Parnevik)

I have heard from tennis aficionados that Mac played a tennis game that was extremely flawed by normal measures. Didn't he use a really loose racket and do all sorts of stuff that is fundamentally 'wrong'?

I wonder if there really were one thousand players who could hit the shots that Mac hit? I think that maybe it was more then just competitive fire that separated Mac from the guys who weren't quite good enough... You see athletes all the time who still have the fire and competitiveness but have lost the physical skills due to age who simply are not great anymore. They still have the thousands of hours of dedicated practice behind them and commitment and devotion but time catches up with them and they become really good like your local pro but not good enough any more... Hmmm, unless of course they are on the juice...

Regards, Herbert
