Response to drill

that Gravity Golf was the biggest load of horse dung that I've ever heard. His system of doing one-armed, one-legged drills to promote balance and a "true center" doesn't address the salient points of a good golf swing ... lead/lag. I never understood how doing one-legged drills and nearly toppling over could be helpful.

So tell me, what part of angle retention and dogs-hind-leg is being trained in these drills?

Looks to me that if you want to learn how to release early, you would do these drills. There was a guy at our driving range who did the Gravity Golf drills for years. He never got any better, and I hear he eventually gave up the game.
