because it accomplishes the task that I need it to do - namely disengaging my conscious thoughts from the execution of the swing so that the subconscious is free to handle the task of execution.
I just choose to use clearkey because it is what I was introduced to first, and as of this date nobody has shown me a better method for accomplishing that which I set out to do. I desire to learn skills and then practice them until they become habits. Once they become habits, I desire to use these habits to hit shots and play golf. I want to leave the execution to my subconscious, which is FAR BETTER at delivering optimal performance of stored habits than trying to direct the swing with conscious deliberate.
If someone were to point to another way or process that would empower me to convert skills to habits, and that shows how these habits can then be utilized in hitting shots and playing golf from a subconscious automatic level - I think it is a safe bet I would run as fast as I can to embrace that process. But so far that hasn't been done.
The science behind clearkey and why it works is without dispute. If clearkey frustrates the hell out of you and doesn't work for you...then find something that allows you to take advantage of the system and abilities that your were created with. You simply must find a way to stay in the present for that 7-10 seconds it takes to hit a golf shot and you must allow the golf shot to happen from the seat of the subconscious....
Never quit til you have a swing you'll never forget!
