Response to Are we born with our golf swings or do we develop our swings?
Hey Stan. I was visiting some old posts and came across this one.
My back was very stiff when I played this past weekend; I couldn't seem to stretch it out to relieve the tightness and pain. On the 8th hole, I reverted to the LPG style (or your style). I believe it used to be referred to as "That Other Method or 'TOM'". Playing 'TOM' doesn't hurt my back as much and I played this way for the rest of the day.
I had some really straight and long drives. My iron play was good, too. Sometime I wonder if I should just accept my fate and switch to TOM full time?
The biggest issue I see with using a TOM type swing is that I really don't what I am doing. Since this type of swing is very unusual, most golf tips to correct a flaw would not be helpful.
Are we the ones using TOM?
