It either hurts or it doesn't regardless of what a biomechanics expert says. If it hurts it's not a good thing even if it supposedly produces less stress.
For a few years now I've had problems walking (straight leg) for significant distances that I have no problem running. Running undoubtedly produces more stress but it's in a place that can handle it while the lower stresses of straight leg weight bearing puts the stress in a place that has a problem with it.
