Response to Dueling Metrics

is not something I or any other golfer can control. How much I turn can be controlled and when I turn also.

Dr. Neal made the point in the seminar I attended that height and weight did not make much of a difference in the results of the hundreds of tour players he measured, but that sex and age did.

It could well be that the modern swing has changed somewhat in the time between Dr. Mann's model, and Dr. Neal's. There certainly is a big difference in the distances players are hitting the ball now vs. then. Of course some has to do with equipment, but I don't think all. The modern swing today is somewhat different today then it was 30 years ago when Dr. Mann started his work.

Funny that Moe was also somewhat open at impact though. Too bad he was not measured for that. wink.gif
