Response to I don't know about 'straight'...
probably not the best way to say it. I would say his lower back is at a steeper angle at impact then it was at address, and his upper back is at a flatter angle which then of course make for the rounded look. The camera angle makes it also difficult as does the fact that the body is turned more towards the target at impact vs. address.
I don't know if you can really curve your lower back very much, seems like it is the middle of the back that is more curved, but many great players have the rounded look at impact. Of course then there is the problem that the spine is not at all straight to begin with.
