Here is a screen capture of a youtube video of Stricker hitting an iron.
[linked image]

This is the 6/100ths position of his downswing. What I see is his elbow not in front of his hip, and the lag already quite released.
Yes, no?

Here is the video on youtube:

edit: Sorry, I meant to post to the existing thread of a few days ago.

6/100s

'6/100s' is the position that the golfer is in apx 0.06 seconds before impact. 'Apx' because it's actually 2 video frames before impact for NTSC video at 30fps so the actual timing is closer to 0.066 before impact. I say this because when you select a frame from video done at other frame rates you have to be cognizant of the differences. The following is from one frame before the frame you posted:

Here is another shot from CBS's Swing Vision which is also at a high frame rate:

Stricker-Rear-6-100s1.jpg

In both cases Stricker's trail elbow is where Scott (IMA) would suggest it should be - by the hip pocket.

In both cases the club is horizontal and slightly short of parallel to the target line which is common for CG where IMA would advise it be parallel (note up to parallel means the club head is under the plane - past parallel means it's over the plane so the swing would then be over the top).

In both cases if you go back another frame or two then Stricker's position is per the golfers in bdog's gallery.
