This guys walks on water around here and now it's like "OMG not Tom terrific!!!"
so what! the guy knocked up his ex-girlfriend. He ain't the first and he sure hell ain't going to be the last. Richer guys have done it and poorer guys have done it. Hey, at least now we know his six shooter works. (as if we really needed to know - kind of TMI, huh)
It's funny how people react when they find out that their "heroes" are actually human and can make bad decisions too.
Now my take on him ---
I've never been a fan of his personally. and I don't mean football wise because there is no denying what the man fan do on the football field (although this past season was definitey his most inconsistent - hmmm, wonder why). I've just never cared for the smug glib act of his, the floating around like I'm better than you are. All that posturing makes me just want to walk up to him and kick him off his high horse. I've had opportunity to meet him and many of his team mates. most of them are just regular guys who behave the same whether they think someone is watching or not. He has just never seemed like he is "real" - like he's comfortable being him.
I kind of like the "sullied" Tom better. Maybe we will see more of the real Tom and less of the the one he wanted the general public to see. He should be more true to himself and less of the pygmalian football hero persona that had been created for or by him. I think he is way conficted. Now my immpression of his Tomness will definitely be influenced by what he does with regard to taking care of this child. People make bad decisions and make mistakes all the time - that's life, it is how they take responsibility for their actions that tells you what kind of person they are.
