They met when she did her student teaching over there, and he followed her back. They thought I'd be a good time in their life to pack up the kids and bring them to Australia to raise them. The kids are 11 and 2.
As for the food...it's mostly for the fun of it...I always have a themed menu for our tailgates...also, I wanna do it so I can use all the silly names I invented for the dishes!!! They will have have name cards with the name of the dishes and some Australian flags...and because it would really impress them that we'd all go out of our way to think up something really special for their last tailgate. Some of the foods...my wontons...the deviled eggs..the chcken wings...I know they just love...and so I thought we'd make sure we had some of their favorites. The other stuff....well...just a tribute to Australia! Only thing I'm worried about people not liking is the Vegemite sandwiches. But I am cutting them in quarters, so they are a finger food. The Rissoles and the Lamingtons sound pretty good. I think everyone will like them.
