Edwin Rowlette actually had a "foundation"! How did that figure into things?

Stories appear and then they disappear with questions being unanswered. Edwin Rowlette was discovered to have had his wife frozen in a backyard freezer in Prescott Arizona last year, along with some cats. Aside from the obvious problem that the temperature wasn't low enough, we have here a situation that threatened to impinge on cryonics in Arizona since Rowlette claimed that he believed that he could have his wife reanimated someday. Rowlette was arrested, but subsequently was allowed to have his frozen wife shipped to Canada for Arctic burial in permafrost!

Who, in cryonics, followed up on this? I don't think anyone did. What would a follow up consist of? It would answer these questions:

1. Which burial ground in Canada is taking on permafrost burials? (The answer could be gleaned from Ben Best's site on arctic burial but that hasn't been updated in awhile)

2. What did it cost Rowlette to put that permafrost burial into effect?

3. I emailed Ben Best, CI president, to ask him if he knew anything, and he replied that he only referred Rowlette's lawyer to his (Ben's) website on permafrost burial. Why hasn't Ben enlisted a CI member to follow up on this "case" for publication in The Immortalist? To be consistent with his historical interest in permafrost burial, Ben should have that followed up on.

4. Christine Gaspar indicated to me that she knows nothing of the case, yet Gaspar is currently president of Canadian Society for Cryonics. (CSC). Although the Rowlette situation isn't cryonics, it's close enough to the genre of lowered metabolic rates for the possible recovery of function and I would have thought she would have followed up on this.

5. Rowlette had an actual scientific foundation, McCandless R & D Foundation. What is the nature of the foundation? Is it a 501 c 3 tax deductable foundation? Who is McCandless? What's really going on here? Can anyone start a foundation and put a freezer in their back yard? Why, if the foundation was valid, was Rowlette forced to move his wife out of the freezer and into the permafrost?

6. What comparison can be drawn to the Colorado situation?

I expect this thread to get buried as previous threads on this topic have been buried. There is simply too much to deal with, in the world, both on a personal level and in the macro sense as the election looms and other issues become more pressing. However, like the buried rosewater/CI story before 9/11, it seems to me that the Rowlette story could someday be dusted off and worked on by someone. There are some interesting loose ends there that could be newsworthy.
