I did it!!!!!!!!
I got a job as a "Writer".
Now What?
This is my first time posting to this forum, but not my last. I will need some help and advise.
I really have been offered a job as a writer and I have accepted it. It just seems so uncanny, that out of all the people in California, they couldn't find a good writer down there... with experience.
Is there a good tutitorial on Pagemaker?
I think I am going to want to use it, as well as Word, Adobe's , PDF creator, (can't think of what it's called), and other software. I am going to be writing a newsletter, radio commercials, tv show dialogue, ads on display's, technical bullitens, labels on products, everything the original writer has been doing for the last 30 or 40 years and more. I have been told I may even be ghost writing an article for PM magazine.
I start the job the third week of Feburary. I'll be moving to Southern California. I am looking forward to the warm weather.
I can't tell anyone who I'm working for just yet, I want to wait until it's all finalized. My wife is flying down to check out real estate and the schools next week at the companies expense, while she is down there she will "Seal the Deal".
I can say, I'm excited to start a carreer as a writer for and industry I absolutely love.
Right now I drive a "Scoop", which is a "HUGE" 4 wheel drive, diesel Cat engined earth mover. I push wood chips around 12 hours a day.
I sure seems unlikely I guy like me in a small podunk town like I live in would land the job I have landed.
