Response to E-Book marketing

Hi Debra,

I think you’ve covered the major points in marketing your e-book very well.

You can, of course, conduct a series of offline activities ~ advertising, public relations, direct mail ~ however I am assuming funds are limited and you wish to focus on e-marketing, as I have done with my ebooks.

I think the key to e-success is to be known, and that means (in addition to your points) doing the following:

Set up a forum

Just as I have done here, set up an industry forum ~ a meeting place ~ and encourage the exchange of ideas as well as offer advice and answer questions.

Visit other forums

Visit other like-minded forums, sharing information and advice (with links, of course, back to your Web site and subtly promoting your ebook).

Testimonials from customers

Encourage feedback from your ebook customers. You will find that many will contact you to tell you what they think of your ebook. Ask permission to feature their testimonials on your Web site. And, if customers haven’t emailed you, contact them.

Reviews

Seek out the online media and offer your ebook for review. The, once the review is online, copy it or a link to your Web site.

These are all simple but powerful ways you can improve your online profile. Half the battle is getting known online; the other half is convincing people of your value, both as an author and mentor.

I hope this helps and good luck.

Regards
Michael Meanwell
