Writers block/time/motivation - help!

Hi,

This is a really great site, and I would really appreciate your help.

Ok my situation is this. Im 22, work full time maintaining a corporate webpage/database, run my own business and am finishing the last couple of subjects of a multimedia degree part time. Im not particularly enjoying my job and plan to see the year out and then look for something else. I run a small horse accessories business for a little extra money after hours. I also have a horse who requires time and attention.

Ultimately my main passion is horses. I plan on buying a country property (hopefully in about 12-18 months). However horses and country properties can tend to be rather expensive, and regional jobs arent easy to find. Nor do I have any intention or wish to spend my life working in an office. Now I have always been a huge reader and love writing. And as I am continuously on the quest to find more ways of making money I have been looking into freelance writing etc to boost my income. I also have this wild dream of buying my country property in the middle of nowhere and being able to make a living from writing, and being able to take a laptop in to the middle of a horse paddock etc to work. Working my own hours would also give me the opportunity and flexibility to play with my horses during the day or whenever I need to.

So, whilst I am still stuck working 9-5 in an office (plus spending an hour in peak hour traffic each way), running my business and finishing uni, I would really love to see what I can do with my writing. Trouble is whilst I have done a couple of online writing courses for fun which got me all excited at the possibilities, I am now finding that this constant writers block has settled over me. My busy schedule leaves me tired at the end of the day and all I can do is flop in front of the tv. The motivation, the ideas, the inspiration just isnt there. I am interested in writing for magazines etc primarily. However I tend to write best on the spur of the moment. If I try to structure myself too much or arent connected personally with the topic I lose interest and cant do it. I like writing about horses obviously, but Im not that much of an expert when it comes to horses which makes things difficult. I just know about my experiences as a horse owner. However finding the topics within my own experiences isnt easy either.

Hopefully all that makes some sense. So how do you clear your mind after working all day and being tired, and how do you come up with good ideas that motivate you to write about them as well as being good ideas that might sell? How do you get over that first hurdle of starting and getting past the "Oh I so cant write tonight" feeling whilst staring at that damn blinking cursor on your blank computer screen!
