  • Quoting in ebooks

    • Posted Feb 8, 2006 2:07 PM

I’m a freelance writer in Christchurch, NZ. I’m looking at getting into ebooks, but there is one thing I’m unsure about. I want to write books on subjects I’m not a total expert in, so they will require some research.

Most ebooks seem to be written by people that are experts as there are no quotes (either direct or indirect) from others in the field. My question is:

I’m aware from reading “The Wealthy Writer” that you have written some ebooks on topics you knew little about. How much quoting did you do for these and how. Obviously it would look awkward if the whole book was either quoting or paraphrasing others.

I would appreciate your advice on this as I’m keen to get underway.
