      I agree with you, but if we think of the explication of Eminem's lyrics in the same light as the explication of Browning's poetry, we may discover that people today are not seeing the deeper meaning in Eminem either. On the surface, it may appear that Eminem is advocating murdering your girlfriend. However, Eminem did not kill his wife. Maybe Eminem is also making a social commentary on spousal abuse. Actually, I don't really believe that because Eminem is a misogynistic jerk and maybe the song is his sick fantasy, but it is something to think about anyway.
