I think Josh is playing to win and some people are being taken in by his senstive act. When he mentions that the people who need the money should win, he eliminates Curtis and Jamie. He talks about Eddie's medical bills. How much of the money do you think would be left by the time his baby niece goes to college. What a bunch of BS. She has her own parents to help her out. Is that the best he can do. He's grasping at straws and playing on the sympathy vote.
