My friend is currently in the MTC but will be
leaving for the Baltimore mission on December 12th. I have the mailing address with the Dorsey Hall street, which I think is the mission office. Is this where I am to send mail to my missionary? Or will I be provided with another address? Also, is this address ok for mailing small packages to?

One more question.. do the missionaries in this mission typically live in apartments or in member's homes? Just curious. Any information anyone can provide would be great. Also any facts about the area or other stores about your past missions in this area would be good too. I just want to hear it all :) Thanks!

Yes the Dorsey Hall address is the mission office. I would suggest to write to that address if you don't write your friend very often. If you do write to her/him send it to the apartment that address until your friend tells you that they might be transferred. It's always easier to get packages right at the appartment but it's alright to send it to the mission office. There are always suprise transfers. I myself was suprised to get a telephone call my very last month, to tell me that we were going to close my area and both be transfered the very next day. Most missionaries live in Apartments. There are few that live in houses with members.

Yes, The Dorsey Hall Dr. address is a place where you can send mail to for missionaries in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. They get it at the office and than the office elders or sisters forward it through the mail to the missionaries apartment. Packages are also welcomed with open arms. I always found it better to have my parents write me through the office because it always got to me. Instead of getting transfered and having them sending it to an apartment that I just left and getting the mail weeks later because of that. Well maryland is a great place to serve. The church is not strong in all the state but the members really make you feel welcomed. Most of the housing there for missionaries are apartment that only the missionary and his companion live at, but there are a few places where they have multi missionaries apartments or missionaries living in members basement. All in all have no worries Maryland Is the greatest mission for anyone to serve in. Your missionary is probably having the time of his/her life!
