Sailed on USS Sheridan from Zamboanga PI in October `45
went thru typhoon in Okinawa and landed in Taku, China.
Drove a jeep from Taku to Peiping, 90 miles in 19 hours. Was stationed at West Field near the Summer Palace. In Service Squadron MAG 12. In April of `46 we moved to South Field, and became MAG 24. South Field was not far from the Temple of Heaven. Came back to the States on USS Breckenridge with 5,094 other
Marines. Trip over Great Circle route took 8 days.
Rode a troop train to Camp Lejeune and discharges 10 August 1946.
