Response to "The Poor Mans 427" Block Prep~

....use the REALLY LONG drill bit to drill the main oil galley out to 7/16"? I have a drill bit for this and have been do'n it for many years. Dunno if it does any good, but if your using a 1/2" drill motor, use both hands. When it catches(and it will), it will get your attention! I also drill out the rear vertical oil passage, at the rear of the valley past the lifter diagonal galleys. There is a cast-in restrictor inside, just above the cam journal boss. I guess I'm a little "old-scool", 'cuz I still use the "blue spring"(100psi) relief spring in a Melling HV pump. Like I said earlier, I dunno if all this does any good, but I don't really have oiling "issues" with any FE builds(that I can remember).
