I quit arguing about them, because there was no use banging your head against a brick wall. Besides, the common wisdom was total anti streetMaster, so its best to just keep your undocumented opinions to yourself...let the results speak for themself. As in all things, its the combination that counts.
I know, expect and will readily agree... in the end, they may not be the "Pen-Ultimate" manifold for Ultra-performance, but for a decent street car whats's not to like?
With a detailed review of Jays test Mule... tri-y headers, good heads and reasonable "street" configuration, that's exactly where this manifold should shine.
But to be completely honest, I am/was surprised at the results, that it placed that high. I have an preference for street capable engines, nothing too radical, and definately nothing stock or which could be considered RV. Buid the short block for torque, buy a cam for for duration, set up the valve train for rpm...then tune the hell out it. Where one componet start to let go, the other perks it up.
