Part throttle efficiency

Response to So, let me get this straight...

You can't really measure throttle response very well on the kind of dyno we play with - - since they require a steady state or fixed rate of gain load to function well. If you were really into it you could pick a constant load value and measure the rate of RPM gain instead of the "normal" measurement with fixed rate of gain.

But anyhow - - there are definite directional impacts from having throttle blades at something other than WOT. These will affect manifold airflow and distribution in a non-linear and perhaps unpredictable fashion. They will also impact booster signal and fuel flow - I just don't know how. I likely had access to this kind of data when I worked at Holley, but I was fixated on peak numbers back then...

We might learn nothing... but consider how frequently the average hot rod FE is just rolled into the throttle from a light or a steady roll as opposed to going WOT - - a 20 or 30 lb-ft advantage would feel way stronger even if the WOT power was equal or less.
